This is the first contest I’m starting for this blog I probably will start one every month depending on how this one goes. You have the opportunity to earn 50$ just by writing a review about Linkrain Articles. Yes that’s right. 50 bucks for writing an article about this blog on your own blog. You’re blog does not need to be famous or have a PageRank to enter this contest, anyway there are some rules you have to follow in order to partecipate:
Contest rules
- Write a honest review about this blog (you don’t have to write “this is the best blog i’ve ever seen” if you don’t like it)
- The review can be long or short (there is no word limit)
- Your blog has to be content related to mine ( SEO, make money online, Google Adsense, Blogging tips, Social bookmarks and so on)
- Your blog must be a human edited blog
- Link to this blog with the anchor text “SEO Blog”
- Link to this article (with any anchor text) so that a “trackback” will be posted as comment and I can verify and read yor review
- PageRank of your blog does not matter
Who gets the cash prize?
After I’ve collected 50 reviews or at the end of june, I will choose wich one I consider best and send the author 50$ through Paypal.
Everybody wins!
The best review will get a 50$ cash prize, but what about the other reviews?
Everytime I collect 10 reviews I will publish a batch, linking to the blogs that have reviewed me. This blog gets nearly 500 unique visitors each day (growing) and has a PageRank of 4.
The contest will end the 30th of June or if 50 reviews are reached.
By linking to this article inside your review, a “trackback” comment will be submitted to this post so that you can see how many reviews have already been written. If only 1 review has been written until the 29th of june for example, you have a great chance to win the 50 bucks just by writing a better one before the 1st of july! (of course I hope that a lot of people will enter this contest 
)

Ok, I’ve added a review. Since I’m a newbie to wordpress so I don’t know how does the trackback work or whether I did it in the correct manner. Did I do it correctly?

About comments: I have been trying to fix the problem since I realised why I don’t get any comments(2 months ago). I tried almost everything: i reinstall my wordpress(mysql stay the same), I check all settings in my wp, check PHP code… I think trackback don’t work from same reason like comments.
About John Chow - i think about this idea about linking back. And he will give away M$ Zumo 30GB too…

It’s a strange thing with those trackbacks…as you can se in many of my posts, I get a lot of trackbacks, so I think there is something wrong with your Wordpress settings.

There are smarter ways to spend that $50
Even if I would buy 5 tickets, I would have a chance of 1/60 to win that Mac…and I’m not a lucky person
OK, the idea is a lot like John Chow’s but are you sure you want to do this? You might get in trouble with Google, you know… No matter how you look at this, you are paying for links, and you know that Matt Cutts encourages people to report paid links.
Btw: John Chow’s strategy worked for a while, but did you check the first page of google.com for “make money online” lately? Yes. He dropped. Big time. Despite his over 1000 links for this keyword phrase.
Sure, there are many factors which could have influenced the drop, but I have reasons to believe that this is the most important one.

I’m actually not sure I want to do this…I already did this. The contest will end in a few days. Matt Cutts even stated that Paid directories are ok. Have you read his post about paid links? How many webmaster were against it? 99%?
The whole Internet is driven by paid links and online advertising, not even Google has the power to stop paid links. and Matt Cutts knows that perfectly. What about sites like “Review me” “TLA” “Pay-per-post” (and these are only “small websites” compared to others selling links) ? What about “Yahoo directory” and “Business.com” wich is an AUTHORITY website in Google and is worth hundreds of millions of dollars? Do you really think Google would ban these sites because they are selling links?
Regarding John Chow the only reason because he dropped for “make money online” is that he got so many backlinks in a short time that it seemed to be ” Google Bomb”. This has absolutly NOTHING to do with paid links.
Here is a quick tip of mine: please read Matt Cutts blog more carefully.
Buying links?? Don’t think so. This is a way to engage readers.
