If you are a blogger and you try to get some money out of your blog, you definitely know Johnchow.com. John Chow runs one of the most updated blogs (with over 4.000 feed readers) about how you to make money online. His top 5 money makers are: ReviewME, Affiliate Sales, Text-link-ads, direct ad sales and Google Adsense and in april he earned over 11,000$ just from his blog.
Today I was checking his blog for some news and for the first time I noticed a strange link in his sidebar, under “Featured Sites”, pointing to a penis enlargement website.

Checking his html code revealed that the websites shown under “Featured Sites” are “Text-link-ads”.
If you subscribe as a “Text-link-ads” pubblisher , you can choose between 2 approval systems for the links that will be displayed on your website:
Allow TLA to editorial approve advertisers to your website. Reminder: TLA will not publish any adult, pharmacy, gambling or any site we feel is inappropriate.
Receive an email notification every time an advertiser purchases a link off your website and have the ability to reject that advertiser. If advertiser approves the ad than the ad is immediately placed. If we do not hear back from you in 24 hours the ad will be reviewed by our TLA editors.
I can’t say what type of approval system he is using but if he is using “approval system A”, he should definitely change it to B so that he can choose the links that will be displayed on his website.
On the other side, if he is using “approval system B” , this would mean that he accepts these kind of advertisements on his blog. IMHO he should reject these kind of links (even if they surely don’t lower the quality of his blog).
