While I was browsing for some free game sites to find addicting flash games like those on Addictinggames, I came across Flashgames247 that caught my attention thanks to it’s great advertisement placement. This website is not only using Google Adsense to publish advertisements but also some other networks. It has an Alexa Ranking of 1.141 which is a sign that this website is receiving some huge traffic. Once you have chosen a game you would like to play and after clicking it’s screenshot, you will see a page like this:

Flash Game Ads

The leaderboard at the top, the skyscraper at the bottom left and the big rectangle at the center of the page, are advertisements served by Fastclick (pay per impression advertisements).

There are also 2 blended Google Ads (marked as “Google Ads” in the image) and 3 other small ads at the top right and top left of the page.

That’s a total of 8 advertising blocks on one single page. Considering the traffic that this website receives, it is earning thousands of dollars each month by displaying these ads. The intersting thing about those pages full of ads, is that you don’t really see where you have to click to play the game! There is an orange box that says “Play Game” with a short description but no botton to click.

Lots of users that come to a page like this, will probably click an advertisement because it is NOT obvious that you have to CLICK THE IMAGE (in the screenshot I’ve made, you have to click the car image) to play the game.

The avertisement placement of this website should guarantee a game site huge ad earnings. I know that some of my readers are running an arcade game website. If you someone is going to try this ad placement, please let me know how it works ;)

Ingenious. Simple but effective isn’t it? They must be raking the cash in!

Is this legal? They’re actually deceiving the advertiser by providing false leads…

Considering the traffic they receive, I think that Google checked their adsense placement…

THANKS! i’ve been looking for some good placement!

The main problem I’ve been having is that my smaller arcade is rejected from most of the good advertisors companies. I’ve been rejected by 3 so far, still trying others. Right now I have 1500 visits a day, 5000 page views a day. Anyhow, if you want to check out my aracade www.online-zombie-games.com I’ve given it lots of love. It’s currently making $7-10 a day. Not 1000’s like the arcade like the one you reviewed, but I hope to be :)

Make your own game! Look for the current trends on Google, and come up with something that will attract lots of folks.. It’s a no brainer.

I would have to partly disagree. I think it’s not about the advertising space, it’s about the real material of what ‘eye tracker’ made of - great content. Content creates the advertising spaces and if you’ll get truly amazing content, you’ll have truly amazing clicks per views.

    Cheers!
