After writing about blending Google Adsense with an image background, I recieved immediately a comment from one of my smart readers (Dexter) saying that I was suggesting to blend Adsense but actually my Adsense ads were not blended. In fact, I changed my Adsense code just a few hours before I published that post because for the first time I found an option in my Google Adsense account that lets you display the same ad block with multiple colors.

I will run those “multiple ads” for a few days to see if I can get a higher CTR than I had with the blended ones.

How can those ads have a higher CTR than blended ads?

Imagine that you have a lot of fans that check your website on a daily basis. After a few days they will get used to your layout and also to the ads. By rotating the ad design of each Adsense Block, maybe it is possible to get some clicks even from those visitors coming back every day. On the other hand it is possible that you won’t get any clicks from new visitors because the ads are not blended.

How can I add multiple color ads to my website?

If you want to try this technique on your website, follow these few and easy steps:

  1. login to your Adsense account
  2. choose “Adsense for content settings”
  3. select “Ad unit: text and image ads” (or only “text ads”)
  4. select any ad format
  5. open the “color palette” and choose “use multiple palettes” at the end of the palette list
  6. by holding down the CTRL key you are now able to select as many palettes as you want
  7. copy and place the new code where you want to display multiple color Adsense ads

I think that for some websites, multiple color ads can have a higher click through rate than blended advertisements.

More information on this experiment soon.

Of course you can align them on the right side…just define “float:right” in your style.css for the Adsense divs.

I give always credit to smart readers Dexter ;)

I don’t have a blogroll yet because I want to find something more original for this blog than a blogroll. If I’m going to add a blogroll in the future, I will think about your offer :D

Anyway, you are actually the top commentator of june, so your blog is already linked in my sidebar.
