1. If you start out in a small niche, you can establish yourself in that small niche, then expand into a larger niche or additional smaller niches and appeal to a larger audience. Ex: fly fishing -> deep sea fishing -> fishing in general.

2. If you’re looking to make money, it may be better off to be mediocre in a high-paying niche, than excellent in a poor-paying niche. Do your research, and know what your goals are.

While they still have the tool online it hasn’t been updated since January of this year. Just do a search on any keyword and what you will get is a reply that will always start like this:
“Searches done in January 2007:”

So anyone serious about their research should look into your second tool suggested - Wordtracker, in my opinion it surpasses anything else available anyway.
