Making money online is an objective of many webmasters and only a few succeed in doing this. There are many different ways to earn some good cash, one of these is “Domain Parking”. Before I’m going to explain how some disgusting people are making money thanks to the kidnapped Madeleine Mccann, let’s make a short summary on how “Domain Parking” works.
Once you have a domain that you are not going to use in the near future, you can “park” it (directly at the registrar or at services like Sedo) and a page for the chosen domain will be created with some advertisements on it. Every time someone comes to this page and clicks on an advertisement, you will earn money for the click.
When someone is going to buy domains especially for the objective to park them and to earn money from the advertisements, the domain buyer will choose domains that people can reach by making an “url type-in error” or by entering the wrong extension .
Let’s make a brief example of the first kind of “type-in error”:
Instead of typing www.google.com, I make a writing mistake and type www.gogle.com in my browser reaching a page full of ads that has nothing to do with Google. This domain is owned by someone that bought it exactly for this purpose, to monetize “type-in” mistakes.
and one of the second “type-in error”
I want to visit www.test.com but I don’t remember that this page has a .com extension, so I type www.test.net and reach a completely different page, with advertisements on it. When I click one of these advertisements, the owner of the domain will earn money for the click.
What has all this to do with Madeleine Mccann?
The disappearance of Madeleine McCann occurred on the evening of Thursday, 3 May 2007 when a then three-year-old British girl, Madeleine McCann, went missing from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Algarve in Portugal, which she was staying in with her parents. Madeleine, who was in a bedroom with her two two-year-old siblings, was initially thought to have only “wandered off” by Portuguese Police, but further investigation by Portuguese police suggested an abduction.
A fighting fund, known as Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned, was launched in Leicester on 16 May, with support from former local rugby union star Martin Johnson. The purpose of the fund is to help the family with their costs and to continue the investigation independently, should that prove necessary. The family said that any extra funds would be used to aid in the search for other abducted children. The website reportedly received 58 million hits and 16,000 messages of support by 18 May, only two days after its launch.
The family have remained in the same holiday resort since the disappearance. Madeleine’s father made a brief trip to the UK on 20 May to help finalise the campaign for the search for his daughter.
Funds are also collected on the official website www.findmadeleine.com.
The whole world talked and is still talking about this small girl, especially because she is still missing. The official website recieved so much traffic that it was able collect over 370.000 english pounds.
And now let’s talk about these disgusting webmasters, these awful and horrible persons that try to make money out of the story of a little kidnapped girl.
Shame on you Seth Mitchell and Godaddy!

Seth Mitchell has registered findmadeleine.biz and parked it at www.Godaddy.com. Some of the people trying to help to find this girl or to help the family by sending them money, will land on this parked page filled with advertisements. Seth Mitchell is monetizing the disappeareance of Madeleine, it’s disgusting!
How can Godaddy allow people to park such domains? Why do people try to make money out of everything?
Shame on you Ulrich Weiss!

Why did you register www.findmadeleine.de and parked it at www.ndparking.de to make money out of it? Wouldn’t you feel better if you could offer some help or funds istead of making a few dollars out of domain parking?
Shame on the owner of findmadeleine.mobi and Sedo.com!

These are not the only domains created to make money out of this terrible story.
Many domains with the name Madeleine combined with words like “missing”, “kidnapped”, “lost” were created. Some of theme are even for sale…
Let’s get all these domains banned! Help me to find all domains that have to do with the kidnapping of Madeleine Mccann and post them here in a comment so that I can contact the registrar to get them removed (or contact the registrar directly yourself).
Let’s stop those webmasters with their disgusting tactics to make money.
Spread this article (Digg it, bookmark it, write about it on your site) or write an article about the same topic and let people know about this horrible technique.
Please help me to stop them, and do something.

Regarding madeleine.biz, the parking page is the automatic page used by GoDaddy after a domain is registered and Mr Mitchell may not even know it is there. For all we know, he may be using the domain to set up another site to help find her. Did you contact him to find out how he plans to use the domain? He may using it for good!
Yes, GoDaddy will make money from the domain, but they probably don’t even know their parking page is there either. It’s unreasonable to expect them to monitor every domain that is registered.
And as I wrote to you personally, you may want to seriously consider removing the Adsense from this article. You’re donating all the proceeds from it, right?
Hi Kumiko,
actually you justified only 1 of all those people making money out of these domains. I answered your email immediately about Adsense but I think you haven’t read it yet because you are writing about Adsense in you comment.
I also asked on DP how to get rid of this adsense button from only 1 post (it’s inside my layout).
Regarding Godaddy, I contacted them. Let’s see what happens..anyway those people created these websites to make money out of it or do you think they did not manage to create a website within 1 month?
I agree that it would at least be worth emailing the people you have contact info for (like Mr Mitchell) and at least giving them the link to this rant so they know what you’re accusing them of (if the email address is legit). Just in case they deserve the benefit of the doubt or you can guilt them into removing the ads and donating the domains back to the families. Still it’s good that you’re willing to contact/hound the domain registrars. I hope you post updates here…
As soon as the registrars get back to me, I will let you know
a quick update here:
I contacted the registrars some days ago and none of them removed the advertising from the domains.
None of them answered my emails.
When I wrote this post asking for help, I also contacted other bloggers asking to write about this topic and to help me to find all this disgusting websites and to get them banned.
Most of the bloggers I contacted were “money online bloggers” (I’m not going to tell you the names) that have a big audience…
Even they did not get back to me…they are only thinking about how to make a few bucks out of their blogs full of useless content instead of doing something for the internet community.
Maybe their were also thinking “why did I not have the idea to register these domains!Damn! I could have made some extra cash by registering those domains!”
Shame on you, bloggers.
[…] You invest time and effort to express your feelings online. If you’re an autoblogger you will raise awareness for bad things you think should change. If you’re a Deciptiblogger, you just ramble about how […]
[…] was really shocked when I read the following post from Linkrain Articles: Disgusting people make money online thanks to the kidnapped Madeleine Mccann. What are your thoughts about […]
And what will you do with people, who registred, waroniran, waronchina and even waronmars?
But really, this with little girl was too much.
It is better than adsense?
If it wasn’t for your adsense links i would not write this
Listen, someone else tried to explain something to you earlier and you did not seem to care or respond to that comment. If you registered godaddycomhasdonkeysexwithkids.com guess what automatically happens if you do not change the name servers to host it somewhere else?
Automatically it becomes a parked page at godaddy.com
You argue about these peoples motives and yet you have no proof of any wrongdoing, you do not even know if these people are family members or not. The possibility does exist, albeit slim.
While your shouting from your soap box you may want to look at that little text ad that says Ad’s by Google on your blog. Are you donating that revenue or are you so devil tongued that your trying to profit from this little girl the way you accuse others but were just too slow to register her name first and now your full of sour grapes?
Heres another possibility you may ponder whilst judging others from your soiled pulpit, many people speculate on domains and use software that automatically polls the web and looks for popular keywords. Some do this in the hundreds of thousands. Millions of domains expire daily and the majority were never even know by their title. If you go to eNom.com and try and register abcd, com eNom will suggest alternatives since that domain is taken. The most common alternative is ABCD and the word Obama and/or Hillary.
Next time you decide that your going to point your finger and make a public accusation at least have the courtesy to try and do a tiny bit more of research. I doubt if you were standing next to one of the people you name here as shameful you would be as bold.
Btw, if your unable to disable the Ad code in your own website then you definitely are not net savvy enough to post about matters like domain parking.
