Today I was searching for the benefits that Premium Adsense Publishers have. It was just a curiosity of mine because you qualify for the Premium Google Adsense Publisher Program only if you have at least 20 million pageviews each month or 5 million search queries. Finally I found that the major benefits of becoming a Premium Publisher are:
- Google sales representative and account manager
- Flexible ad formats
- Advanced filtering
- Optimization assistance
- Additional monetization options
- Enhanced technical support
- Creating direct links to Adsense for search results
- Google ads in adult and mature pages
- Google ads on Casino related websites
I thought these to be all the privileges for a Premium pubblisher and I was definetly wrong.Have you ever visited www.engadget.com , one of the most famous techology blogs in the world (and one of the most famous blogs at all)?
If you have a closer look at the homepage you will see:
- an Adsense unit at the top of the page (not labled ”Ads by Google”)
- another adsense unit in the right sidebar (not labled “Ads by Google”)
- an Adsense unit under the third post
- an Adsense unit under the fourth post
- another one under the sixth post
- another one under the tenth post
- and finally one under the last post
That’s a total of 7 ad units on one single page (there is also an Adsense link unit at the top of the page). Considering the Terms Of Service for a normal Google Adsense Publisher you are allowed to put a maximum of 3 ad units on each page.
Engadget.com recieves more than 20 million pageviews each month. That’s why pubblishing more than 3 ad units on one single page seems to be another benefit of Premium Publishers (or is Engadget.com violating the Adsense TOS? I don’t think so).
And there is another benefit for Premium Publishers !
The Adsense banner at the top and the Adsense skyscraper in the right sidebar, are not marked as Google ads. The line “Ads by Google” is completly missing, labeling of ads becomes optional.

good to know - when we hit 20,000,000 page views a month - i’ll be sure to call up google…
Google has to be allowing them to place that many ads, because Google limits the ads to 3 per page - even if you try to place 4 the 4th won’t show up!
Exactly Court. I tried to show 4 Adsense units and only 3 showed up…
Actually I once added 4 Google Ads on my blog, using the Adsense Plugin for Wordpress. It happened by mistake ofcourse, wasn’t intentional at all. It actually allowed me to show 4 Google ads on a page, so I immediately went and corrected it, by removing the code from a previous post.
Are you sure about this SEO reloaded? I tried it a lot of times just to see if it was working and even if I placed 10 ad units on one single page, only 3 showed up…
Wow, that gives me something to strive for…
